There has been so much excitement and anticipation about the return of the Deerfield Summer Park Program. And here is what we know so far.

Our first day will be July 5th 2021. We start our day at 8:30 am and end the day with a strict 3:00pm PICK UP TIME, every day throught the 6 week, unless it is otherwise noted.

The Program runs Mondays through Thursdays - Weekly until August 12th when the program ends.

Children are welcome to join and leave anytime during the day as long as the selected guardian is there to sign them in or out. MANDATORY SIGN IN AND OUT !

All children who attend MUST have a refillable drink bottle with Name on it, as well as a bag or back pack to their belongings in when not being used. We would prefer a change of clothing be included in that bag as well as a towel for water fun days. We suggest that if your child decides to attend for a full day that he/she is provided with a morning snack, Lunch, and afternoon snack.

It looks as though we will have a large number of newcomers, average age of 6-7 years of age, Please review with your Child before attending - good manner rules, working and playing together with others and NO bullying ethics. Swearing, Bullying, fighting, constant Arguing, and disrespect toward staff and others will NOT be tolerated and if continued will result in dismissal of the program.

No Scooter, hoverboards, bicycles will be allowed unless it is part of a specific event that we are holding.

The Town of Deerfield is providing a staff of 6 councilors, 1 senior councilors and 1 youth Leader. These staff member will do their best to supervise and organize a safe fun filled day for your children. They are here to cicipline safely, play games, organize sports, do arts and crafts, to aid in your children enjoyment this summer.

This is Generalized supervision and does not provide for individual specific attention to any one child.

What do we have lined up so far?

We will have a calendae of events handed out the first week of the program, it is still in the making. However as of now we have several sources of entertianment coming into the park for the children.

Stevens-Swann Pet care clinic - visit with cats and dogs

Karate USA will do a clinic of Stranger Danger/ Anti Bulling / and a demonstration of the Competitive team

Kiss FM will host a Dance Party for the Kids with a real-life DJ

Gloria's Ice Cream Truck

Deerfield Fire Department - visit with the Fire Department Crew

Magic Show with "Mr. Magic"

Bringing Back "PANCAKE MONDAYS" each Monday morning between about 9-9:30 am will be be making up batches of pancakes for the children to decorate with syrup, fruit, candies, whip cream and eat to their hearts content.  YUMMMM

We offer arts and crafts daily - some days we will have special projects that we will work on together: Flower Pot painting, basket weaving, tye dyeing, and slime making to name a few.

Our Youth Room is filled with all kinda of sports equipment.  Tennis rackets, hockey sticks, Balls of all kinds, for kickball, basketbasket, soft and wiffle ball, volleyball, dodgeball games. and our Councilors witll organize all sorts of games to play as a group.

On real hot days we will retreat to the woods on our nature trails and wander down to the steam ( a strickle of a steam)  The children can cool their feet in the water and hunt and play in the water. The often return with little souvenirs - rocks, clay and fossils.

We are hoping to do some historic acting in August, building a simple set and storyline, this should be a fun way to learn about history.

We are looking forward to seeing old faces and meeting many new ones.

Who can attend?  Thsi program is offered to the tax paying resident families of the Town of Deerfield for FREE.

NON RESIDENTS are welcome however this is a $250.00 fee per child to register to attend the 6 week program.

Town of SCHUYLER Residents - Your Town has agreed to cost-share at $125.00 Per child for the 6 week program.

ALL FEES WILL NEED TO BE PAID UPON THE CHILD'S FIRST VISIT AND THE FEE IS NOT REFLECTIVE TO THE NUMBER OF DAYS A CHILD ATTEND AND IS NON REFUNDABLE.
